This three-year partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region XI – Davao City Field Office provides BACMA students with opportunities to engage in real-world industry initiatives that support learning, research, and public service. Through collaborative programs and activities, students are exposed to practical applications of communication and media in economic, cultural, and developmental contexts.

Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE)

The renewed institutional partnership with the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE) for the academic year 2026–2027 strengthens BACMA’s engagement in communication and media research through collaborative initiatives and shared academic platforms. This partnership provides both students and faculty with opportunities to participate in research collaborations, conferences, and scholarly exchanges that deepen their understanding of current trends and issues in the field. It also supports student training initiatives, including research development activities and mentorship opportunities

Far Eastern University FRAMEwork

As an academic partner of FEU FRAMEwork, the BACMA program engages in platforms that promote research presentation, scholarly exchange, and academic growth in communication and media studies. This partnership provides opportunities for both students and faculty to present their research in regional and international conferences, fostering exposure to diverse perspectives and current developments in the field. It also encourages collaboration with scholars from other institutions, strengthening research competencies and critical inquiry. Through this engagement, BACMA enhances its research culture while supporting the professional and academic development of its community.

​Partnership with People’s Television Network (PTV)

The Department of Humanities of the University of the Philippines Mindanao, under which the BA Communication and Media Arts (BACMA) program operates, conducted a benchmarking engagement with the People’s Television Network (PTV) to explore opportunities for aligning academic training with industry practice. The discussion focused on potential avenues for showcasing student theses, internship outputs, and creative works through PTV’s platform. Through this engagement, BACMA gains insights into real-world media operations, industry expectations, and collaborative possibilities. These learnings support the program’s efforts to enhance student exposure to professional environments, expand networking opportunities, and strengthen the development of industry-relevant skills in communication and media.

Benchmarking Initiative with Ateneo de Davao University

The BA Communication and Media Arts (BACMA) program of the University of the Philippines Mindanao conducted a benchmarking meeting with the Bachelor of Arts in Communication program of Ateneo de Davao University to exchange insights and best practices in key areas such as curriculum design and implementation, thesis and capstone development, industry linkages and internship programs, faculty development, and laboratory and production facilities. The engagement provided valuable perspectives on strengthening academic delivery, enhancing research and creative outputs, and fostering stronger connections with industry partners. Insights gained from this benchmarking effort will inform ongoing program development and support BACMA’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.
