University of the Philippines Mindanao Policies

The University of Pretoria’s Disciplinary Code is built on the principles of academic integrity, honesty, and appropriate behavior. It is designed to protect the interests of the university community while providing a fair process for addressing misconduct.
The University has established policies and procedures regarding the following:
MISCONDUCT
This includes acts such as contravening University regulations, dishonesty (theft, fraud, bribery), plagiarism, infringing on the rights of others, unauthorized use of property, and the unlawful possession or use of alcohol or drugs.
DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES
The Code outlines various paths for handling allegations, including expedited informal procedures for minor matters, temporary suspensions pending investigation, and formal disciplinary hearings.
THE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE (STUDENTS)
This body is responsible for investigating charges, determining guilt, and deciding on appropriate disciplinary measures.
PENALTIES
Depending on the severity of the offense, penalties may range from a simple reprimand or fine to community service, suspension of registration, or permanent expulsion from the University.
APPEAL PROCEDURE
Students have the right to appeal findings or penalties to the Appeals Committee of Senate. A written Notice of Appeal must be lodged within 10 days of the original decision.
STUDENT RIGHTS
During formal proceedings, students are entitled to be informed of charges, have reasonable time to prepare, call witnesses, and be accompanied by a legal representative or parent/guardian.
